Alright, let’s talk about these here wood furnaces for inside yer house, the ones they call “indoor wood furnaces.” Now, I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I’ve been around long enough to see a thing or two, and I can tell ya what’s what.
Are them wood furnaces safe to use inside? Well, from what I gather, if you get it put in right, and you use it like the fella who made it tells ya to, then yeah, they’re safe enough. But nothin’ in this world is perfect, ya hear? There’s always a chance somethin’ could go wrong, so ya gotta be careful.
Now, why would folks want one of these things in their house? Well, for starters, wood’s a whole lot cheaper than them other fancy fuels. If ya got a wood furnace outside, ya start savin’ money right quick, and the ones they sell now, they say they’re real good at burnin’ wood, so ya save even more.

But we’re talkin’ about the ones inside, right? So, let’s see… If you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ one, ya gotta make sure it’s the right size for yer house. If it’s too small, it won’t heat the place up good, and if it’s too big, well, you’ll be sweatin’ like a hog in July, and that ain’t no good neither. They got these numbers, somethin’ about “sq. ft.” That’s how big a space it’ll heat. So, ya gotta figure out how big yer house is and get a furnace that fits.
- First thing’s first: Get a good one, from a company that knows what they’re doin’. Don’t go buyin’ some cheap piece of junk from who-knows-where.
- Second: Get someone who knows how to put it in right. This ain’t like pluggin’ in a lamp, ya know? It’s gotta be done right, or you’ll have all sorts of problems, maybe even a fire. And nobody wants that.
- Third: Learn how to use it proper. Read the instructions, even if they’re long and boring. And don’t go tryin’ to burn stuff that ain’t supposed to be in there, like plastic or garbage. Just good, dry wood.
Now, some folks worry about the smoke and the ashes. Well, yeah, there’s gonna be some of that. But if it’s put in right and workin’ good, the smoke should go up the chimney where it belongs. And the ashes, well, ya gotta clean ’em out every now and then. It ain’t a big deal, just part of havin’ a wood furnace.
What about them new ones, the ones they call “EPA 2020”? Well, from what I hear, they’re supposed to be cleaner burnin’, which is good for the air and good for your lungs. And they got these tools too, warm air furnace tool sets and such, supposed to help keep things running smooth.
And another thing, ya gotta have a place to store the wood. Ya can’t just leave it out in the rain, it’ll get all wet and won’t burn right. So, ya need a dry place, maybe a shed or a covered porch.
So, to sum it all up, indoor wood furnaces can be a good way to heat yer house, especially if ya wanna save some money on them high fuel bills. But ya gotta be careful, ya gotta get it put in right, and ya gotta use it right. If ya do all that, you should be warm and cozy all winter long.
Just remember, safety first! Don’t take no chances with fire. If you ain’t sure about somethin’, ask someone who knows. Better safe than sorry, that’s what I always say.
And one last thing, make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector in your house. You can’t see or smell that stuff, but it can kill you. So get a detector, and make sure it’s workin’.
