Alright, let’s talk about that mac n’ cheese money in Georgia. You know, that cheesy stuff everyone likes. I heard folks are buyin’ a whole lot of it, and I got to wonderin’, how much money is that bringin’ into our state?
Now, I ain’t no fancy bookkeeper or nothin’, but I can tell you one thing, people love their mac n’ cheese. Kids, grown-ups, even old folks like me, we all enjoy a good bowl of cheesy noodles. It’s easy to make, it’s cheap, and it fills your belly. What’s not to love?
I was listenin’ to the radio the other day, and them fellas were talkin’ about how much mac n’ cheese they sellin’ in Georgia. They were sayin’ somethin’ about the “Department of Agriculture,” whatever that is. Sounded important, so I figured they know what they talkin’ about.

- They said sales went up by a whole bunch, like 25 percent in four years. That’s a lot of cheese!
- They also mentioned the “USDA,” that’s another one of them government groups. They keep track of all sorts of food stuff, I guess. They were talkin’ about cheese sales too. Seems like everybody’s sellin’ cheese these days.
Now, I don’t know exactly how much money that is, but it’s gotta be a big number. I mean, think about it, every grocery store you go to, they got boxes and boxes of mac n’ cheese. Different brands, different flavors, all kinds of cheesy goodness. And people are buyin’ it all up! They even got that fancy kind now, with all the special cheeses and stuff. Costs more, but folks still buy it. My grandson, he loves that fancy kind, says it tastes “gourmet.” I don’t know what that means, but he eats it, so it must be good.
I even seen them restaurants sellin’ mac n’ cheese. Not just as a side dish, mind you, but as a whole meal! Big ol’ bowls of mac n’ cheese with all sorts of toppings. Pulled pork, bacon, even lobster! Can you believe that? Lobster in mac n’ cheese! Must be good eatin’, but it sure ain’t cheap.
I reckon all this mac n’ cheese sellin’ is good for Georgia. It means more money for the farmers, more money for the stores, and more jobs for folks. That’s a good thing, right? We need all the jobs we can get. My neighbor’s boy, he just got a job at the cheese factory. He’s happy as a clam, makin’ good money and learnin’ a trade. That boy used to just sit around the house playin’ them video games and causing trouble, now he has a job and is becoming a real good man.
And it ain’t just the regular mac n’ cheese, you know, the kind in the blue box. They sellin’ all kinds of cheese in Georgia. Cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella, you name it. Georgia’s becomin’ a real cheese powerhouse, I tell ya. We might not be as famous as Wisconsin or California when it comes to cheese, but we’re gettin’ there.
I heard somewhere they were talkin’ about how much money cheese makes all over the world. Millions and millions of dollars, they said. And America, well, we’re one of the big cheese makers, second only to somebody else, I can’t remember. That’s somethin’ to be proud of, I reckon. And Georgia, we’re doin’ our part to keep that cheese money flowin’. So next time you sittin’ down to a bowl of mac n’ cheese, remember, you’re not just eatin’ good food, you’re also helpin’ our state make a little money. And that’s a good thing for all of us.
So yeah, mac n’ cheese is bringin’ in some good money to Georgia. How much exactly? Well, I don’t know the exact dollar amount. But it’s a lot, I can tell you that. And it’s growin’ every year. So let’s keep eatin’ that cheesy goodness and keep that money comin’ in.
