Solaris Healthcare Zephyrhills, huh? Let me tell ya, when you get old like me, you start thinkin’ ’bout these places. Never thought I would, but here we are. It’s all creaky bones and forgettin’ where I put my teeth now.
I heard tell it’s over on Dairy Road. Dairy Road, can you believe it? Used to be nothin’ but cows out that way. Now they got this… Solaris place. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Like somethin’ out of a picture book.
They say they help folks. You know, when you can’t hardly get outta bed yourself. When your own kids, bless their hearts, are too busy with their own lives to be lookin’ after you all the time. It’s a sad thing, but that’s how it goes. Life ain’t always peaches and cream, let me tell ya.

- They got doctors, I reckon. People in white coats pokin’ and proddin’.
- And nurses, the kind that help you with your pills and such.
- Probably got folks to cook your meals too. Lord knows I’m tired of standin’ over a stove all day.
I ain’t been there myself, mind you. But I heard some folks talkin’ down at the market. Said it’s a clean place. That’s important, you know. Don’t want to be livin’ in some dirty old shack in your last years. You want somethin’ decent, somethin’ that feels like… well, like home, I guess. Even if it ain’t really home.
They got pictures, too, I hear. Folks takin’ pictures of the place and puttin’ ’em on the internet. That internet thing, it’s a marvel, ain’t it? My grandson tried to show me how to use it once. Said I could look up anything I wanted. But all them buttons and screens, it just confused my old head. Give me a good book any day.
Reviews, they call ’em. People writin’ down what they think about the place. Some folks say it’s good, some folks say it’s bad. That’s the way it is with everything, ain’t it? Can’t please everybody. You just gotta hope for the best, I suppose.
They updated somethin’ in October, I think someone said. Maybe they painted the walls or somethin’. Little things like that can make a difference, you know. When you’re stuck inside all day, you notice the little things.
They’re in Zephyrhills, that’s for sure. I remember Zephyrhills when it was just a dusty little town. Now it’s growin’ like a weed. More people, more cars, more everything. Guess that’s what they call progress. But sometimes I miss the old days, when things were simpler.
Health setbacks, they said somethin’ about that too. That’s a polite way of sayin’ you’re fallin’ apart, ain’t it? It’s hard on the whole family, they’re right about that. Nobody wants to see their loved ones sufferin’. And nobody wants to be a burden, neither. It’s a tough spot to be in, let me tell you.
They help you decide, if it’s the right place for you. Like you got a choice when your body’s givin’ out on ya. But I guess it’s good to have some say in things. Nobody wants to be shipped off to some place they don’t like.
June 23rd, somebody mentioned that date. Maybe that’s when someone they knew went in. Or maybe it’s just some random date. Hard to keep track of these things anymore. My memory ain’t what it used to be.
So, Solaris Healthcare Zephyrhills. It’s a place for old folks, I reckon. A place for when you can’t take care of yourself no more. It ain’t home, but maybe it’s the next best thing. You just hope they treat you right, and keep you comfortable. That’s all you can ask for at my age.
7350 Dairy Rd, that’s the address. If you ever need it, you know. Hope you don’t, but you never know what life will throw at ya. That’s the truth, plain and simple.
And 33540, that’s the… what do they call it? Zip code? Yeah, zip code. Like they gonna zip you up and send you off somewhere. Land sakes, I’m gettin’ morbid now. It’s just a number, nothin’ to worry about. Just an address, a place on a map. A place for people like me, I guess.
