Hey everyone, it’s been a while! Today I wanna talk about something that I messed with recently – the “APM Body of Knowledge 7th Edition APA”. Now, I gotta be honest, APA style always made my head spin, but this time I had to dive in because of a big project I was working on.
So, first off, I needed to get my hands on the actual 7th edition of the APM Body of Knowledge. After some digging around, I found a copy. Then came the fun part – figuring out how to cite things in this new edition using APA. I gotta say, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
I started by reading up on the basics of APA. I looked at some examples of how to format different types of sources. Apparently, the 7th edition has some new rules, like only using one space after a period at the end of a sentence – who knew? And they started using quotation marks around examples, which is kinda neat.

Next, I practiced writing a few reference list entries. I had some books, some journal articles, and even a couple of websites that I needed to cite. I made sure to follow the APA guidelines for each type of source. It was a bit tedious, but I got the hang of it after a while.
Then I moved on to the in-text citations. This part was a little trickier. I had to figure out how to properly cite quotes and paraphrases, and how to format citations with multiple authors. It was helpful to just copy-paste some examples from the guide. I found some notes about how to set up the title page, the main text, and even tables and figures. I made some notes and then started working on it.
- First step: I made a title page. Nothing too crazy, just followed the basic APA format.
- Second step: I started writing the main body of the paper. I made sure to use proper headings and subheadings to organize my thoughts.
- Third step: I created a reference list at the end, following all those APA rules I had learned.
Honestly, the whole process was a bit of a learning curve. It felt like I was back in school again! But I pushed through, and guess what? I actually managed to write a paper that followed all the APA guidelines. It wasn’t perfect, but I was pretty proud of myself.
The cool thing is, now I feel a lot more confident about using APA style. I know it can seem daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s not so bad. And hey, if I can do it, anyone can! So, if you’re struggling with APA, don’t give up! Just keep practicing, and you’ll get there.
What I Learned
I can say that I am more familiar with the APA 7th edition guidelines. In the beginning, I only knew that it is something hard and never used. But now, it feels easier to apply it to my work. It seems like I will use it more often.
That’s it for today’s little adventure. Hope this was helpful to someone out there! Catch you guys later!
