Okay, so I decided to make a sirloin tip roast in my pressure cooker. I’d heard it was a good way to cook this cut of beef, and I was curious to try it out. First off, I grabbed my roast, it was about three pounds, and I seasoned it all over with salt, pepper, and some garlic powder. I made sure to really rub those spices in there for maximum flavor.
Next, I heated some oil in my pressure cooker – you know, just enough to coat the bottom. Once it was hot, I added the roast and seared it on all sides. We’re talking a nice brown crust here. This step really locks in the juices, trust me.
After searing, I took out the roast and poured in some beef broth. I also added some chopped onions, carrots, and potatoes to the pot. Then I placed the roast back on top of the veggies. It looked pretty good at this point, not gonna lie.

I sealed the pressure cooker and cooked it on high pressure for about 50 minutes. You’ll want to adjust the time depending on the size of your roast. After the time was up, I let the pressure release naturally for about 15 minutes, then I did a quick release for the remaining pressure.
When I opened the lid, the smell was amazing. The roast was fall-apart tender and the veggies were cooked perfectly. I took everything out of the pot and let the roast rest for a few minutes before slicing. This is key, folks, don’t skip the resting!

I served the roast with the cooked veggies and made a simple gravy with the leftover broth. It was a delicious and hearty meal.

I even had some leftovers which made some great sandwiches the next day.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I was really impressed with how the sirloin tip roast turned out in the pressure cooker. It was easy, relatively quick, and the meat was so tender and flavorful. Definitely a win in my book! Gonna make this again for sure.
