Okay, so I decided to check out this place on Court Street that everyone’s been talking about. I’ve been craving some good Chinese food lately, and this place had some pretty good reviews online. It’s called “Golden Dragon” or something like that, I don’t remember exactly.
First, I looked up the address and figured out how to get there. It wasn’t too far from where I live, just a couple of stops on the subway. I got there around 7 PM, and it was already pretty packed. There were a lot of people waiting outside. I went inside and saw a long line of people waiting to get seated. Luckily, I was alone, so they squeezed me in at the bar. The waiter, I think he was called Tommy, gave me a menu immediately after.
I started by checking out the menu. They had all the classic dishes, like General Tso’s chicken, Kung Pao shrimp, and beef with broccoli. They also had some more unique stuff that I hadn’t seen before. After looking through everything, I ordered a few things to share with my friend, who came later. We had to try the dumplings, so we got an order of pork dumplings and another order of vegetable dumplings. Both were amazing! Also, I asked for the General Tso’s chicken because I love that, and my friend asked for some fried rice.

- Pork Dumplings: These were juicy and flavorful. The filling was well-seasoned, and the wrapper was nice and thin.
- Vegetable Dumplings: These were also really good. They were filled with a mix of veggies and had a nice, clean taste.
- General Tso’s Chicken: This was a classic. It was crispy, sweet, and a little spicy, just the way I like it.
- Fried Rice: A large portion that was enough for both of us. It was not greasy.
Waiting and Eating
After I ordered, I just chilled at the bar for a bit. I watched the other people around me and observed the plates that were coming out. The place was buzzing, and the food looked and smelled amazing. It took a little while for the food to arrive, but it was worth the wait.
When the food finally came, I dug in right away. I started with the dumplings, which were amazing. The pork dumplings were juicy and flavorful. The vegetable dumplings were also delicious. Then I moved on to the General Tso’s chicken, which was crispy and sweet and had a nice kick to it. The fried rice was a great side dish, and I loved it.
I finished everything and felt pretty full and satisfied. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. I paid the bill, which was around $40 total. I think it is good for two people. I’ll definitely be going back to this place. Maybe next time, I’ll try some of their other dishes, like the Peking duck or the hot pot. Anyway, if you’re in the Court Street area and you’re looking for some good Chinese food, you should definitely check this place out.
