Okay, so here’s the story. I saw this awesome Porsche t-shirt online a while back. You know the type, maybe a bit retro, looked really cool. But man, the price tag wasn’t exactly pocket change, at least not for a t-shirt. I kept thinking about it, couldn’t shake it off. So, I decided, right, I’m gonna get that shirt, but I need to find the cash specifically for it. Felt a bit daft, setting out to earn money just for a t-shirt, but whatever, it became a little mission.
First thing I did was look around my place. What could I turn into cash quick without much fuss? My eyes landed on the corner of the spare room and the garage. Bingo. Years of stuff just sitting there. Old gadgets, clothes I haven’t worn in ages, stuff I kept meaning to sort out.
So, I started digging. Pulled out a box of old video games, mostly console stuff I haven’t touched since forever. Found a couple of decent jackets I bought on a whim and wore maybe twice. Then there was this old practice guitar amp, gathering dust in the garage. Perfect. Didn’t expect to make a fortune, just needed enough for the shirt.

Next step was getting it all online. Grabbed my phone, took some quick pictures. Didn’t bother with fancy lighting or anything, just made sure they were clear enough to see what the stuff was. Wrote up some really basic descriptions – you know, “Used PS4 games bundle, good condition”, “Men’s jacket, size L, hardly worn”, “Small guitar amp, works fine, bit dusty”. Kept it simple. Put them up on one of those selling apps, picked a price that seemed fair, maybe a little less than others just to get them shifted.
Getting it Sold
Then came the waiting part. Got a few messages, mostly people asking silly questions or offering way less money. Ignored most of the lowballers. Had a bit of back and forth with a couple of folks. Finally, someone actually committed to buying the amp. Great start. Then another person snagged the video games.
- Guitar Amp: Sold first. Had to meet the guy locally, which was easy enough.
- Video Games: Sold as a bundle. Packaged them up in an old Amazon box.
- Jackets: One sold after a week or so. The other one is still listed, actually.
Packing was a bit of a pain. Dug out some bubble wrap I’d saved, found some boxes. Taped everything up securely. Had to trek down to the post office to send the games and the jacket off. Cost a bit for postage, which I forgot to factor in perfectly, but oh well.
The money started trickling into my account on the selling app. Had to wait for the buyers to confirm they got the items. Once it cleared, I checked the total. Added it all up – the amp sale, the games, the one jacket. It was enough! Just about covered the cost of that Porsche t-shirt, plus a little bit for shipping.
So, I went back online, found the t-shirt again, and hit the buy button. Felt pretty good, actually. Like I’d properly earned it, even if it was just by selling off my old clutter. It arrived a few days later. Now I have the shirt. Mission accomplished. It’s kind of funny, the little projects we do for simple things sometimes.
