Hey folks, it’s been a while since I last posted, but I wanted to share a recent experience I had with a place called August Healthcare at Wilmington. It’s a nursing home, or senior living provider as they like to call it. Anyway, I found myself needing to check it out, and I thought, why not document the whole process? Might be useful for someone else down the line.
So, first things first, I found out that August Healthcare is located over at 820 Wellington Ave in Wilmington, North Carolina. That was easy enough. I learned they have around 120 beds and offer both short-term and long-term care. Sounds pretty standard, right?
Next, I dug a bit deeper. Turns out, they’re not just a nursing home. They do physical therapy, occupational therapy, and even wound care. That’s pretty cool, I thought. They even deal with things like stroke recovery and memory care for Alzheimer’s and dementia. Seems like they have all the bases covered.

Now, I was curious about the cost, like anyone would be. I saw that the monthly rate starts at around $6,000. Not exactly pocket change, but I guess that’s the going rate these days. After some searching, I found out the number and gave them a call, and someone picked it up, and we had a good conversation about it.
Here’s where things got a little interesting. I checked out their NPI profile online—you know, the National Provider Identifier thing. Just wanted to see if everything was on the up and up. Everything checked out, so that’s a relief.
I also read through their mission statement. Something about using a collaborative approach to healthcare. Sounds nice, but what does that even mean in practice? I guess I’ll have to visit to find out. Actually, I learned something new today, I didn’t know that Wilmington is a good place for healthcare. There are many specialists and providers, so people don’t have to travel to outside cities to find care.
Anyway, that’s the gist of it. I started by needing to know about a nursing home in Wilmington, found August Healthcare, did some basic research on their services and costs, and even checked their NPI profile. I read about the local healthcare environment in Wilmington. It’s been a bit of a learning experience, to be honest.
- Started with a need for info on a nursing home.

So, yeah, that’s my little adventure with August Healthcare at Wilmington. Hope this helps someone out there. It’s always good to be prepared, right? I guess I should go visit there someday. It’s a wrap for today, I think I’m done for today. Catch you all later!
