Okay, so I went to this place called Ayala Central Bloc the other day. It’s in Cebu, Philippines, and it’s basically a big mall. I was pretty hungry, so I decided to check out their food court.
First off, I had to figure out how to get there. I just took a bus that went to IT Park, and the mall was right there. It was easy to find, no problem at all.
When I got to the food court, which is on the top floor by the way, I was like, “Whoa.” There were so many food choices! They had all sorts of stuff, like Filipino food, of course, but also Japanese, Korean, and even some Western-style places.

I walked around for a bit, just checking out all the different stalls. There were so many yummy smells! I was having a hard time deciding what to eat. It’s a good problem to have, I guess.
- There was this one place called “Kan-anan” that had a huge line. It looked like they were serving lechon, which is like, roasted pig. Super popular here.
- Then I saw a Japanese place, “Tokyo Tokyo”. I’m a sucker for some good ramen, you know?
- And next to that was a Korean place, “Oppa’s”, serving up Korean fried chicken. Crispy, spicy, just the way i like it.
- Also found this small shop, “Dimsum Break”, They had all kind of steamed stuff.
After walking around, I finally decided to get some food from “Dimsum Break”. Their steamed rice looked really good, and the price was okay, not too expensive. They also had siomai, which is a kind of dim sum, and I love that stuff.
I paid for my food, the cashier handed me my order number, and I waited for my food. Took about, I don’t know, 5-10 minutes? It wasn’t too long. Grabbed my tray when they called out my number, and it’s time to find a place to seat!
Finding a seat was a bit of a challenge. It was lunchtime, so the place was packed. I had to circle around a few times before I found an empty table.
Finally, I got to eat. And man, the food was great! The steamed rice was soft and fluffy, and the siomai was juicy and flavorful. I was so full after that.
I hung around a little longer just to relax, and people-watched. The food court was really lively, with people coming and going. It was a pretty cool atmosphere.
So yeah, that was my trip to the Ayala Central Bloc food court. Good food, lots of choices, and a fun vibe. If you’re ever in Cebu and you’re looking for a place to grab a bite, I’d say it’s worth checking out.
Oh, and one more thing! They have free Wi-Fi, which is always a plus. I was able to catch up on some emails while I was eating, so that was pretty convenient.
All in all, it was a good experience. I’d definitely go back there again. Maybe next time I’ll try the lechon!
