Today, I tried the food court at Lesley University. I’d heard some good things, so I figured, why not check it out myself?
Getting There
First off, I did a little research. Their website, called CampusDish, shows you all the places you can eat, when they’re open, and what they’re serving. They also have a map on their website, which was handy. Turns out, there are a bunch of different spots spread out across the campus.

Exploring the Options
The main cafeteria is called Washburn Dining Hall. It sounds pretty big – all-you-can-eat, with hot meals, a salad bar, soups, and a deli. Plus, they have vegan stuff, which is cool. They also mention this place called the “Just Walk Out Market”.
- Washburn Dining Hall: This is the big one, the main cafeteria. Seems like they have a lot of variety.
- Porter Exchange: This is where Cafe Mami is. It’s in the University Hall building.
- On The Go Market: This one also caught my eye. I guess it is probably a grab-and-go type of place.
Making a Decision
I ended up going to the Porter Exchange, specifically to try Cafe Mami. I saw online that they serve Japanese food, and I’m a big fan. It’s located in the food court on the ground floor of University Hall. They say there are a few other mini-restaurants there too, all Japanese.
The Experience
Walking into the food court, it had a lively vibe. Lots of students and a good mix of food smells. Found Cafe Mami easily enough. Ordered some food, and let me tell you, it was tasty! Definitely lived up to the hype I saw online.
Overall Thoughts
Lesley’s food court scene seems pretty solid. Washburn Dining Hall sounds like a good bet if you want a big meal. But for me, Cafe Mami at the Porter Exchange was the winner today. I will definitely be going back to try the other mini-restaurants there. It’s a good spot for a quick and yummy bite, especially if you’re into Japanese food. Plus, with the variety across campus, it seems like there’s something for everyone. It’s good to know they care about using fresh and local ingredients, too. Seems like Lesley Hospitality, the folks who run the food service, are doing a decent job. They even have a mobile ordering app, but I didn’t try that this time.
So, yeah, that was my food adventure at Lesley University today. Not bad, not bad at all.
