- Watering Globes: These are like pretty glass balls you fill with water. You stick ’em upside down in the dirt. They let out water slow like. They look nice, but sometimes they get clogged.
- Self-Watering Pots: These pots got a little tank at the bottom. You fill that up, and the plant takes what it needs. These are pretty good, ‘specially for plants that like their soil moist.
- Drip Systems: Now these are a bit more fancy. They got tubes and things that go to each plant. You can set a timer and everything. Good for a lot of plants, but might be too much for just a few. I ain’t got that many plants, just a few is all.
- Spikes: There are also these ceramic spikes, you put them in the soil and they go right up against the pot. You fill them with water and it slowly goes into the plant’s soil. These are really good for plants that need constant water.
I tried the globes first. They looked real nice in my window. But like I said, they got clogged up sometimes. Then I got a couple of them self-watering pots. They work pretty good, especially for my ferns. They like a lot of water, them ferns. Now, I ain’t tried them drip systems. Seems like a lot of work to set up. But if you have lots of plants, maybe it’s worth it. I think for just some regular plants, the spikes or self-watering pots are the best. They do the job and they don’t cost an arm and a leg.
Now, you gotta remember, every plant is different. Some like a lot of water, some don’t. My spider plant, that thing is tough. It don’t need much water at all. But my peace lily, oh boy, that one’s a thirsty fella. So you gotta figure out what your plants like before you go buyin’ these indoor plant waterer things.
Best Indoor Plant Waterer? It Depends!
So, which one is the best? Well, like I said, it depends on your plants and what you like. If you want somethin’ pretty, the globes are nice. If you want somethin’ easy, them self-watering pots are good. It depends on how much money you want to spend, too. The drip system is probably best if you have a lot of plants, and you have some money to spend. They are the most expensive, that is what I heard.
I got a golden pothos, that thing grows like a weed. It’s in a self-watering pot and it’s doin’ great. I also have a peace lily that needs lots of water. It is also doing well with a ceramic spike in its pot. So, those two types of waterers are good for those two plants. Just remember to check your plants now and then. The waterers are helpful, but they are not magic. You still need to check that the soil is wet and that the plant is not drooping or anything. You need to check that the plant is getting enough sunlight, too. That is another thing you need to worry about. Sunlight is very important for plants. These indoor plant waterer things are good for water, but they do not help with sunlight.
I saw some folks online talkin’ about these indoor plant watering system things. Some people really like the automatic ones. They say it’s great for when you go on vacation. You don’t have to worry about your plants dyin’ while you’re gone. Me, I don’t go on vacation much. Just stay at home most of the time. But if you do, then maybe you should look into those. Vacations are good for us humans, but they are not good for plants. These waterers will help when you are on vacation.
Another thing, these waterers, they save you some time. You don’t have to water as often. You also don’t have to worry about overwatering. Some plants, they don’t like too much water. They can get sick. These waterers, they give the plant just what it needs. Overwatering is bad and can kill your plants. It is better to give them less water than more water. If you give them too much, their roots will rot. Then the plant will die. These waterers will stop you from doing that.
So, yeah, these indoor plant waterer things, they’re pretty good. They make keepin’ plants alive a little easier. And that’s good for someone like me, who ain’t got a green thumb.
