Okay, here’s my blog post about the “Week of Italian Cuisine in the World 2023,” written from a personal, hands-on perspective, using basic HTML tags, and keeping it super casual:
Alright, so I heard about this “Week of Italian Cuisine” thing and thought, “Why not?” I mean, who doesn’t love Italian food, right? I decided I was gonna dive in headfirst and try to make some classic dishes myself. No fancy chef stuff, just me in my kitchen, messing around.
Getting Started
First thing I did was I looked up the “official” dates. Gotta know when to start, huh? Then I did some digging. I did use many web search and check some food blogs and YouTube videos. Just to get the general idea of Italian dishes, you know?

The Food Journey
- Monday: I started with something easy: pasta! Specifically, spaghetti aglio e olio. It’s just garlic, olive oil, chili flakes, and pasta. I figured even I couldn’t mess that up. Turns out, it’s pretty simple, and tasted really, real good.
- Tuesday: Pizza time! Okay, making the dough from scratch was a bit of a challenge. It was… sticky. Let’s just say it was a learning experience. The pizza itself, though? Not bad! A little wonky-looking, but the taste was there.
- Wednesday: I felt brave, and tried to make Risotto. It’s that creamy rice dish. It needs a lot of attention, I realized this fast. You have to keep stirring it, adding broth little by little. I think I put a bit too much cheese, but hey, more cheese is good right?
- Thursday: I attemped to make Tiramisu. I have tried before but failed. Layers of ladyfingers, coffee, mascarpone… sounded simple, right? But it take time, and I put it in the fridge to * hardest part was waiting!
- Friday: I did something simpler. I made bruschetta. Toasted bread, tomatoes, basil, garlic… fresh and tasty. A nice, light way to end my cooking week.
Final thought
So, that was my week of Italian cooking. I definitely burned a few things and made some questionable-looking * It was delicious! I felt like I learned a lot. I’m no Italian chef, but I can at least make a decent pasta dish now. And that Tiramisu? Totally worth the wait. I might even try making some of these again… after I clean up my kitchen, it is a mess.
Anyone else try anything for the Italian Cuisine Week? Let me know what you made!
