Alright, let’s talk about this CSULA food court, or whatever they call it. I ain’t been to school in ages, but my grandkid, they go there. They tell me all sorts of things, and one thing they always yap about is the food. Kids these days, always hungry, eh?
So, this place, they call it the Village Commons, sounds fancy, don’t it? My grandkid says they got all sorts of grub there. Like, a buffet, you know, where you can just pile up your plate as high as you want. They got different food every day, they say. Pizza, too, the kind they make in them stone ovens. Salads and fruits, for them healthy eaters, I guess. And if you want somethin’ special, they got a grill where they make it right then and there. Oh, and sweets, of course, kids always gotta have their sweets.
My grandkid, they’re always talkin’ about eatin’ healthy now. Says they got vegan and vegetarian stuff too. Back in my day, we ate what we had, no fancy names. But hey, if they wanna eat leaves and such, that’s their business. Just hope they get enough to keep ’em goin’. You know, gotta study hard, can’t be thinkin’ ’bout an empty belly all day.
Now, where is this place, you ask? Well, it’s at that CSULA school, you know, the California State University, Los Angeles. Big place, lots of learnin’ goin’ on. And apparently, lots of eatin’ too. My grandkid says they change the hours sometimes, so you gotta check their website or somethin’ to know when to go. Kids and their phones, always lookin’ at screens.
- Buffet: Lots of food, different every day.
- Pizza: Stone-oven kind, sounds good.
- Salads and Fruits: For the healthy folks.
- Grill: They make food just for you.
- Desserts: Gotta have somethin’ sweet.
- Vegan/Vegetarian Options: For them leaf-eaters.
They got other places to eat too, not just this Village Commons. My grandkid talks about somethin’ called CampusDish. Sounds like a website or somethin’. They got menus there, so you can see what they’re servin’ before you even go. And they talk about meal plans too, which I guess is how them college kids pay for their food. It’s all different now, back in my day, we just brought a lunch pail or went home for lunch.
And there’s this other place, the Main Food Court. Sounds like a busy place. My grandkid says they got salads, bowls, sandwiches, wraps… all sorts of stuff. And they got this place called Farmer’s Fridge there. Quick and tasty, they say. Kids are always in a hurry, so that makes sense. Always gotta try new things, that’s what my grandkid says anyways. So, maybe this Farmer’s Fridge is worth a try.
Now, about them grades. My grandkid tells me if they do good, they get on somethin’ called the Dean’s List. Gotta get a 3.5 or higher, and take a bunch of classes. No good gettin’ a NC, that means “no credit”, I guess. It’s important to work hard and get good grades, my grandkid knows that. And good food helps, I reckon. Gotta keep that brain fueled up.
This CSULA, it ain’t just about eatin’, of course. They got all sorts of learnin’ goin’ on. Nursing, engineerin’, business, teachin’… all sorts of things. They say the school is good, helps you get a job after you graduate. That’s important. Gotta be able to make a livin’ after all that learnin’.
Anyways, that’s all I know about this CSULA food court and all that other stuff. Seems like a good place for kids to learn and eat, as long as they don’t spend all their time stuffin’ their faces and forgettin’ about their books. And hey, if you wanna know more, go visit the place yourself or ask one of them youngsters. They know more than us old folks these days.
