Listen up, you youngins! Let me tell you a story ’bout that Omaha Sports Academy. That place, supposed to be for the kids, teach ’em baseball and all that. Well, it ain’t all sunshine and rainbows, I tell ya! They had this fella, Bob Franzese, running the show. Big shot, you know? Founder and what not. Turns out, he weren’t so honest. Nope, not at all. He was stealing money, that’s what he was doing! A lot of money.
Now, I heard some folks say he took near four hundred thousand dollars! $400,000! Can you believe that? That’s a whole heap of money. I remember when a dollar could buy ya a whole meal! Times sure have changed. But stealing is stealing, no matter how much it is. And stealing money from a place meant for kids? That’s just low down, dirty shame. He used it for his own self, that Bob. Didn’t care ’bout the little ones. Nope. Just lined his own pockets.
They said he coulda gone to jail for a long time. Like, twenty years for each time he stole! Imagine that, twenty years! He’d be an old, old man by the time he got out. But you know what? He got off easy, I reckon. Just four years of probation. What’s that? Just means he has to be good for a while. Doesn’t seem right to me. He should have to pay back every single penny! Every last one!

This whole thing started back on June 22. That’s when his partner accused him of stealing money. Said he put $404 on some cards. That’s what I heard, anyways. And it weren’t just once, neither. He kept on doing it. Like a sneaky little weasel, taking what ain’t his.
You see, that Omaha Sports Academy, it’s supposed to be a good place. A place where kids can learn and play. But how can they do that when the man in charge is a crook? It just makes ya sick to your stomach, don’t it? I don’t know what this world is coming to. Folks just don’t have no decency no more.
- He stole a lot of money, near $400,000 they say.
- He could have gone to jail for a long, long time.
- He only got probation, just has to be good for a few years.
- His partner accused him, said he used the money for his own self.
- Omaha Sports Academy is supposed to be for the kids, but how can it be with a thief running it?
They called it “embezzlement.” Fancy word for stealing, if you ask me. He pleaded “no contest.” Don’t know what that means, exactly. Sounds like he’s saying he didn’t do it, but he did. Just a way to weasel out of it, I suppose. Like a fox in a henhouse, that Bob Franzese. Slick and sneaky.
They said he took the money for “personal use.” Well, what else would he use it for? Feeding the hungry? Helping the poor? I doubt it! He was probably buying fancy things for himself. Living the high life while those kids were missing out. It’s just not right. It is just money stealing, plain and simple!
I hope they learned their lesson. I hope they keep a closer eye on things over there at the Omaha Sports Academy. Those kids deserve better. They deserve a place where they can feel safe and learn and grow. Not a place where the grown-ups are stealing money right out from under their noses. Bob should be ashamed of hisself, that’s all there is to it!
This Bob, he was 48 years old. Old enough to know better, that’s for sure. You’d think a man that age would have some sense. But I guess greed gets the better of some folks. Turns ’em into something they ain’t. Makes ’em do things they shouldn’t. I always say, money is the root of all evil. And this here is a prime example. Just plain money stealing!
Well, I’ve said my piece. Just remember, kids, honesty is always the best policy. Don’t be like that Bob Franzese. Don’t let greed get the better of ya. You work hard for your money, and you keep it. Don’t let anyone take it from ya. And if you see someone doing wrong, you speak up! Don’t be afraid to tell the truth. It’s the right thing to do. It doesn’t matter if it is Omaha Sports Academy money stealing, or stealing a piece of candy, it is all wrong! And that is all I have to say.
