Alright, let’s talk about this Winc Inc. company and how much money they throw around on marketing. I ain’t no fancy business woman, but I can tell ya, these companies gotta spend money to make money, ya know?
So, this Winc, they sell wine, like a wine club or somethin’. People get wine delivered right to their door, ain’t that somethin’? Now, to get folks to sign up, you gotta tell ’em about it. That’s where this “marketing” stuff comes in. It’s like shoutin’ from the rooftops, but with ads and such.
I heard tell that Winc, they been growin’ like a weed. Sellin’ more and more wine every year. They say somethin’ ’bout case volume jumpin’ up 80% in two years! That’s a whole lotta wine, let me tell ya. And they’re playin’ in a big sandbox too, a market worth billions, they say. Billions! That’s more money than I ever seen in my whole life.

But here’s the thing, they gotta fight for their piece of that pie. Other wine folks, they make their wine first, then try to sell it. But Winc, they kinda do it backwards. They figure out what people want, then they make the wine. Smart, I guess. But either way, you still gotta get the word out. You gotta tell people your wine is the best darn wine around.
- So, how much they spend on this shoutin’ from the rooftops? Well, it ain’t always the same.
- One year, I heard they spent somethin’ like 5.8 million dollars on marketing. That’s a heap of cash! They were tryin’ to get more customers, so they upped their ad spendin’. Makes sense, I reckon.
- But then, another year, they pulled back a bit. Spent only 3.7 million. They said somethin’ ’bout keepin’ their marketing efficient. I guess that means gettin’ the most bang for their buck. Don’t wanna be wastin’ money, that’s for sure.
Now, you gotta remember, this marketing ain’t just one thing. It’s all sorts of stuff. They got ads online, maybe in magazines too. They got them social media thingamajigs, where young folks are always yappin’. They might even send out emails or do some fancy promotions. It all adds up, you see.
And it ain’t just Winc spendin’ all this money. Other big companies, they spend even more. I heard tell of one company, Target I think they called it, they spent, get this, 1.5 BILLION dollars on ads. Billion with a “B”! Can you imagine? Makes Winc’s millions seem like chicken feed. But Target, they sell all sorts of stuff, not just wine. So, I guess it’s different.
Anyway, back to Winc. They seem to be doin’ alright for themselves. They were even lookin’ for a partner to buy ’em out, or somethin’ like that. So, they must be worth somethin’. And that’s gotta be, at least partly, thanks to all that money they spend on marketing. Gotta let folks know you’re there, ya know?
Now, whether spendin’ millions or billions is the right way to go, I ain’t got a clue. I just know you gotta spend somethin’ to get somethin’. And Winc, they seem to be playin’ the game pretty good. They’re growin’, sellin’ more wine, and makin’ a name for themselves. And that’s what counts, I reckon. At least that’s how I see it, just a simple old lady tryin’ to make sense of this business stuff.
In the end, it’s all about gettin’ folks to buy your wine. And Winc seems to be doin’ a pretty good job of that. Even if they change their spendin’ from year to year, they still keep at it. And that’s the important thing, I guess.
