Well, I tell ya, if you ever find yourself down in Hayward, California, and you’re feelin’ hungry, you best be headin’ over to the Southland Mall Food Court. Now, I ain’t no big city gal, but I sure know a good meal when I see one. And let me tell ya, this place has got something for just about everybody. Whether you’re craving some spicy wings or maybe a nice, hot bowl of noodles, they got it all, right in one place.
The food court at Southland Mall, over there at One Southland Mall Drive, is open pretty much every day, from 11 in the morning to 7 in the evening, and they even stay open a little later on Fridays and Saturdays, till 8. So no matter when ya show up, you ain’t gonna have to wait too long to get your fill.
What’s Cookin’? Well, let me tell ya, there’s a whole bunch of tasty stuff to choose from. You got your standard mall eats like Auntie Anne’s pretzels, but if you’re in the mood for somethin’ a little fancier, there’s also Seafood Grill and Naan N Curry. Don’t even get me started on those wings over at Adrienne’s Wild Wings – they’ll make your mouth water just thinkin’ about ’em.

- Seafood Grill: Now, if you’re in the mood for fish, this place has got it. Shrimp, crab, fish – you name it, they got it. Fresh and tasty, and they know how to cook it just right.
- Adrienne’s Wild Wings: If you love spicy food, you gotta try these wings. They got all sorts of flavors, from mild to wild, so you can pick one that’ll make ya sweat a little or just go for somethin’ easy if you’re not into too much heat.
- Auntie Anne’s: You can’t forget them pretzels. Soft, warm, and buttery, just like you’d expect from a good ol’ pretzel place.
- Naan N Curry: You got yourself some Indian food here, with all them spicy curries and soft naan bread. It’ll fill you up and keep you warm inside, especially on a chilly day.
If you ask around, the locals will tell ya, the food court’s got a real nice mix of places to eat. Whether you like your food spicy, savory, or sweet, there’s something for everyone. And they’re not just any ol’ food stalls; they’re serving up some real tasty meals that’ll have you comin’ back for more.
Now, Southland Mall itself is a good spot if you’re lookin’ to do some shoppin’. They got all kinds of stores to browse, so you can work up an appetite before you head on over to that food court. And after you’ve filled your belly, you can head back out to do more shoppin’ or catch a movie, if that’s your thing. It’s the kind of place where you can spend a good part of the day and still have a good time.
When to Go Well, if you’re lookin’ to avoid the crowd, I’d say try to get there a little earlier, before it gets too busy. Weekends can be packed, especially on Saturdays when they stay open a little longer. But if you don’t mind a bit of hustle and bustle, you can always go later in the day when the food court’s still got a good vibe and lots of folks grabbin’ a bite to eat.
And I gotta say, the place looks nice too. The food court’s been renovated recently, so it’s all fresh and clean-like. They’ve got some new restrooms, and the space is a lot bigger now, so you won’t feel all cramped up like you might in some older malls. I reckon they’ve made it a real nice spot to come and relax while you enjoy your meal.
If you’re not sure where to start, just look for the Food Court signs – you can’t miss it. They’ve got a lot of dining options all lined up next to each other, and it’s easy to see what each place has to offer. And don’t worry about getting lost in the mall, they’ve got good signs that’ll help guide you right to the food court, so you won’t have to wander around all day.
All in all, I’d say if you’re ever in the area, don’t skip out on the Southland Mall Food Court. It’s a great spot to grab a bite, take a break, and maybe even do a little shoppin’ while you’re at it. So go on, take a trip down there and treat yourself to some good food!
