Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this place, this “bergrippen” climbin’ spot. Sounds fancy, don’t it? But it’s just a big ol’ building where folks go to climb on fake rocks. Heard tell it’s in Denver, somewhere.
Now, I ain’t never been climbin’ no rocks myself, ‘cept maybe climbin’ up on the shed roof to fix a shingle or two. But from what I hear, this bergrippen place is somethin’ else. They got walls, big walls, taller than my old barn, I reckon. Forty feet high they say. That’s a long ways up, let me tell ya.
And they got ropes, lots of ropes. More ropes than a hay baler, I swear. They call ’em “top-rope” and “lead climbin’,” whatever that means. Sounds complicated to me. But they got over sixty of them, so I guess there’s enough for everyone. Even you young’uns can find a rope to swing on, I betcha.

Folks from all over go there, seems like. Beginners, folks who ain’t never climbed nothin’ before, and fancy folks who climb like monkeys, real experts they call ’em. They got different climbs for everyone, easy ones and hard ones. Some of them climbs got numbers, like “5.13 lead” and “V10 bouldering.” Don’t ask me what that means, I ain’t got a clue. But it sounds like some folks take this climbin’ stuff pretty serious.
- They got a place for the young’uns too, and families. Little walls, not so high.
- And they got these fancy ropes that catch ya if ya fall. They call ’em “auto-belays.” Sound safe enough, I guess.
- Even got a little bitty rock climbin’ spot for the kids, with a slide and all. Kids these days, they got it all, don’t they?
This place is big, real big. Bigger than the town square back home, I’d say. They say it’s got over sixty-eight thousand square feet of them plywood panels, that’s what they make the walls outta. That’s a whole lotta plywood, ain’t it? Enough to build a whole town, I reckon.
Now, I don’t know why folks wanna climb on fake rocks inside when you got perfectly good trees outside. But I guess it’s somethin’ different, somethin’ to do. Keeps ’em outta trouble, maybe. And it sounds like they got a good setup there at this bergrippen place, safe and sound, and fun for the whole family.
They got a phone number too, if you wanna call ’em up. And an address, somewhere in Denver. I ain’t got it memorized, but I’m sure you can find it if you want. Just look up that “bergrippen” place, the climbin’ spot. You can’t miss it, I reckon. It’s the one with all the ropes and the big walls. Just be careful up there, ya hear? Don’t want ya fallin’ and breakin’ somethin’. And don’t forget to bring your own water, ’cause climbin’ makes ya thirsty, I betcha.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do in Denver, and you ain’t afraid of heights, maybe give this bergrippen place a try. It might be fun, who knows? Just remember what I told ya, and be safe.
