Alright, let’s talk about that food court at Augusta Mall, you know, the place where you go when you’re tired of shoppin’ and your stomach starts grumbling like a bear in winter.
I ain’t been to all them fancy restaurants ’round there, like that Mr. Cow or whatever. Heard some folks talkin’ about Taco somethin’ too, and some Italian place, sounds like a mouthful, Trattoria…Polly…something. Too much fuss for me. I just want somethin’ quick and easy, ya know? I ain’t got time for all that fancy-schmancy stuff.
So, the food court, that’s where I go. It’s got all sorts of food, somethin’ for everyone, I guess. You got your burgers, your fries, your pizza. My grandkids, they love that pizza. Always grabbin’ a slice, cheese drippin’ everywhere, messin’ up their clothes. Kids, I tell ya, they don’t care none about cleanliness.

Then you got them Chinese places, always smellin’ like soy sauce and somethin’ sweet. I tried it once, that orange chicken, it was alright, I guess. A little too sweet for my taste, but the young’uns, they gobbled it up. They eat anything these days, long as it’s got sugar in it.
- Burgers and Fries: Can’t go wrong with a burger and fries, right? It’s fillin’, and it don’t cost an arm and a leg. Just make sure them fries ain’t too greasy, ain’t nothin’ worse than a soggy fry, makes ya stomach turn.
- Pizza: The kids love it, and to be honest, I do too sometimes. Easy to eat, and you can share it, or not, depends on how hungry you are. But that crust, sometimes it’s like chewin’ on cardboard, gotta watch out for that.
- Chinese Food: Like I said, it’s alright. Plenty of choices, noodles, rice, all that stuff. Just watch out for them sauces, some of ‘em are real spicy, makes your eyes water and your nose run.
I heard some folks talkin’ about TripAdvisor, lookin’ up reviews and pictures of places to eat near the mall. I don’t know nothin’ about that. I just go with my gut. If it smells good and looks clean, I’ll give it a try. If not, I move on. Simple as that.
Now, they used to have this other mall, Regency somethin’ or other. It closed down years ago, everything boarded up, like a ghost town. Shame, really. It had a food court too, I think. Can’t quite remember, it’s been so long. My memory ain’t what it used to be, you know? Getting old ain’t for the faint of heart, I tell ya.
Anyways, back to Augusta Mall. The food court there, it’s always busy, especially on the weekends. People everywhere, rushin’ around, tryin’ to find a table. It can get a little crazy, but that’s part of the fun, I guess. You get to see all sorts of people, young, old, big, small, all walks of life. It’s like a little slice of the world, right there in the middle of the mall.
Prices? Well, they ain’t cheap, that’s for sure. Everything’s gone up these days. But you can usually find somethin’ that fits your budget. And if you’re really strapped for cash, you can always pack a sandwich, I ain’t too proud to do that. Nobody gonna look twice at a ol’ lady with a sandwich.
So, if you’re ever at Augusta Mall and you’re hungry, check out the food court. It ain’t fancy, but it’ll fill your belly. Just don’t expect no white tablecloths and waiters in bowties. It’s just good, plain food, for good, plain folks.
And one more thing, don’t forget to grab a drink. All that eatin’ makes a person thirsty. They got them soda machines, all kinds of flavors, and them ice teas too. Me? I just stick with water, it’s the best thing for ya, keeps ya hydrated. And lord knows at my age, staying hydrated is important!
So there you have it, my take on the Augusta Mall food court. Nothin’ fancy, just the truth, as I see it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gettin’ hungry again just talkin’ about it. Maybe I’ll head over there myself, grab a bite to eat.
