Okay, so, I’ve been looking for a good place to get some exercise and just have some fun lately. You know, somewhere indoors because, let’s be honest, the weather can be a bit unpredictable. Then I stumbled upon this place called the Decatur Indoor Sports Center, or DISC for short. Sounded promising, so I decided to check it out.
First off, this place is huge! I mean, we’re talking 87,000 square feet of space. Walking in, I was pretty impressed. They’ve got everything you could possibly want for indoor sports and activities.
I started with the fitness center. They have all the usual stuff – circuit training and those nautilus machines. I did a quick workout, got my heart pumping. Then I headed over to the track. It’s a four-lane, 200-meter track, and it felt really nice to run on. I’m not a professional athlete, but it looked and felt like a professional track to me.

- Indoor soccer field
After that, I wandered around a bit more. They’ve got an indoor soccer field, which was busy with a game. Looked like fun! And get this – five basketball/volleyball courts! Five! There were people playing on all of them, and the energy was awesome.

- Two dance studios
I saw a couple of dance studios too, but I didn’t go in. Dancing isn’t really my thing, but it’s cool that they offer that. And I heard they even have a rock climbing wall and a golf center. I didn’t see them this time, but I’m definitely going back to explore some more.
The Conclusion
Honestly, I was at the DISC for a good few hours, just soaking it all in. It’s such a great facility, and it seems like they have something for everyone, no matter your age or what kind of activity you’re into. I even saw some information about different programs they offer for kids. If you’re in Decatur, Illinois, or even just passing through, I’d say the Decatur Indoor Sports Center is definitely worth a visit. I know I’ll be going back for sure, maybe I can finally learn how to rock climb.
