Well, let me tell ya ’bout that there Grand Traverse Mall food court. It’s a place, ya know, for eatin’. Lots of folks go there, hungry bellies and all.
First off, you got all sorts of places to pick from. Some fancy, some not so much. Kinda like pickin’ berries – some are sweet, some are sour, but ya gotta try ’em all to find the good ones. I ain’t tried all of ‘em, mind you, too many for this old lady.
There’s this Taste of India place. Folks say it’s real yummy, even for a place stuck in a mall. They got all them sauces and that tandoori chicken. I ain’t never had no tandoori, but sounds fancy, eh? They’re open most days, lunch and dinner, so ya can fill yer belly whenever it starts grumblin’.

Now, if you ain’t into that Indian stuff, there’s other things too. Lots of restaurants near the mall, too. You got yer Mexican food, sushi, even some place with a funny name like 7 Monks Taproom. Sounds like a party, don’t it? Be careful not to get too rowdy, though, this old lady ain’t got time for no drama.
- Fridas Mexican Grill – They got them tacos and burritos, I reckon. Good for a quick bite.
- Fuji Sushi Steakhouse – Raw fish? That ain’t for me, but some folks like it. To each their own, I always say.
- Rare Bird Brewpub – Sounds like they got beer there. Not my cup of tea, but maybe you young’uns like it.
And if them mall places ain’t yer style, there’s other grub nearby too. You want some bread? Go to Common Good Bakery. Or maybe you want somethin’ called Opa! Sounds foreign, but folks like it. They got this Opa! Grill & Taproom place.
But let’s get back to that there mall, the Grand Traverse Mall, that’s what we’re talkin’ about. Besides eatin’, you can do some shoppin’ too. They got clothes, shoes, all sorts of things. Gap, Old Navy, Macy’s – big names, ya know. This old lady can’t afford much of it, but it’s nice to look, ain’t it?
And if you’re tired from all that shoppin’ and eatin’, there’s pie! Grand Traverse Pie Company, they call it. Handmade pies, they say. Now, that’s somethin’ I can get behind. Nothin’ like a good ol’ pie to make ya feel right. Apple, cherry, blueberry – all the good stuff.
The mall’s easy to find, too. Just off that 31 South road, not too far from town. They open pretty much all day, even on Sundays. So, if ya got nothin’ better to do, or if yer belly’s achin’, go on down to the Grand Traverse Mall food court. You’ll find somethin’ to eat, I reckon. And if ya don’t, well, at least ya can say ya tried.
It’s a good place for folks to gather, ya know? Young and old, all comin’ together to eat and shop. Reminds me of the old days, when everyone knew everyone. Things ain’t like that no more, but it’s nice to see folks still gettin’ together sometimes. And that’s the truth, I tell ya, the whole truth and nothin’ but the truth, so help me God.
Grand Traverse Mall, it’s got something for everyone, even this old lady. So, go on down there and see for yourself. Just don’t forget to try that pie!
And that’s all I got to say about the Grand Traverse Mall food court. It’s a place to eat, a place to shop, and a place to be. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go find myself a piece of that pie. My sweet tooth’s callin’!
