Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this whole indoor tanning thing lately, and let me tell you, it’s a whole process. I wanted to get that sun-kissed look without, you know, actually baking in the sun for hours. Plus, it’s winter, so the sun isn’t exactly cooperative. So I picked up this “cooling indoor tanning lotion” and figured I’d give it a whirl.
First off, I went and got this lotion. The bottle I got was a decent size, 13.5 ounces, so it should last a while. It’s called “Coconut Kisses,” which, honestly, sounds pretty nice. I opened it up and gave it a sniff – definitely had that coconut vibe going on. The lotion itself was white, which means it didn’t have those bronzers that instantly make you look darker. It’s more about helping your natural tan develop. This one also claimed to have a “coolant” effect, which sounded interesting.
Now, onto the tanning part. I’ve never really done this before, so I did a little digging on how to not fry myself. Seems like you gotta ease into it. So the first three days, I went to the tanning salon and did just 8 minutes each time. Slathered on that cooling lotion, hopped in the bed, and just chilled. It actually felt pretty good – kind of like a mini-vacation. The “coolant” part of the lotion is subtle but definitely there. I think it helps a lot in avoiding overheating.

After those first three days, I bumped it up to 9 minutes for another three days. Still feeling good, no burning or anything, just a little bit of color starting to show. Then, I moved up to 10 minutes. I stayed at 10 minutes for about 4 days. I was being super careful not to overdo it. Then I increased the time to 12 minutes and did that for another 5 days.
All in all, it’s been a gradual process. I’m definitely getting tanner, and the lotion seems to be doing its job. It keeps my skin feeling soft, and that cooling sensation is actually pretty refreshing, especially after being in the tanning bed. I feel like I’ve got a healthy glow going on now, and it’s definitely better than being pale all winter!
It was a good try and I’m happy I could do it. Here’s a few things I’ve learned along the way:
- Start slow: Don’t rush the tanning process. Those short sessions at the beginning really help your skin get used to it.
- Lotion is key: Using a good lotion, especially one with a coolant, makes a big difference. It keeps your skin moisturized and helps prevent that burnt feeling.
- Listen to your body: If you feel like you’re getting too much, take a break or shorten your sessions. It’s not worth risking a burn.
So yeah, that’s my indoor tanning adventure so far. It’s been a learning experience, but I’m happy with the results. If you’re thinking about trying it, just remember to take it slow and use a good lotion! You will be happy that you did it!
