Well, let me tell ya, this here forget-me-not flower, she ain’t too fussy. Folks keep askin’ if ya can grow ’em inside without soil, you know, like them fancy city folks do. They call it “hydro- somethin’ or other”. Sounds like a whole lotta trouble if ya ask me, but hey, to each their own.
Now, I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I’ve seen my fair share of these little blue flowers poppin’ up all over the place. Mostly in damp spots, ya know, where the water likes to hang around. So, I reckon if ya wanna grow ’em inside, ya gotta give ’em somethin’ like that. Not too dry, not too wet, just right. Like Goldilocks and her porridge, but for flowers.
So, can ya do it? Can ya grow these forget-me-nots without dirt? Well, I heard tell ya can grow just about anythin’ in water if ya know what you’re doin’. Them city folks are always comin’ up with newfangled ways of doin’ things. But some things, they just don’t make sense. Like growin’ potatoes in water? That just sounds silly. They need dirt, everyone knows that! But these little forget-me-nots, they ain’t got them big ol’ roots like potatoes. So maybe, just maybe, they’ll do alright in that hydro- contraption.

- First thing’s first, ya gotta have some light. Ain’t no plant gonna grow in the dark, that’s for sure. A sunny window should do the trick, or maybe one of them fancy grow lights if ya wanna get all high-tech.
- Then ya gotta give ’em somethin’ to eat. Just like us, flowers need food too. But they ain’t eatin’ no mashed potatoes, no sir. They need special plant food, the kind ya mix in the water. I seen them bottles at the store, all colorful and whatnot. Just follow the directions, they say. Can’t be too hard, right?
- And don’t forget the water! That’s the whole point of this hydro- thingamajig, ain’t it? Keep them roots wet, but not too wet. Ya don’t wanna drown ’em. Just enough so they can drink and be happy.
Now, I’ve heard some plants, they get too big and clumsy for this water growin’ business. Like them trees, or them vines that climb all over the place. Forget-me-nots ain’t like that. They’re small and polite, they don’t take up too much space. So, I reckon they’d be alright. But I ain’t promisin’ nothin’, ya hear?
The important thing is to give ’em what they need. Light, food, and water. And a little bit of love, I suppose. Plants are like people in that way, they need a little TLC to thrive. So, if ya wanna try growin’ them forget-me-nots in water, go ahead. It might just work. And if it don’t, well, ya can always stick ’em in the ground like normal folks do. Ain’t no shame in that.
This hydro-growin’ thing, it’s all the rage these days. Folks say it saves water and ya don’t have to worry about weeds. Sounds like a lot of fuss to me, but hey, maybe it’s worth it. If ya got the time and the patience, give it a whirl. But don’t come cryin’ to me if it don’t work out. I told ya from the start, I ain’t no expert. I just grow my flowers the old-fashioned way, with dirt and sunshine.
But I guess if you want to try growing forget-me-nots without soil, that’s your business. Just remember, they like it moist, so don’t let them roots dry out. Give ‘em plenty of light. And don’t overfeed ’em, or they’ll get all sickly. Treat ‘em right, and they might just surprise ya. And if they don’t, well, like I said, stick ‘em in the ground. Nature always knows best.
So, in conclusion, can forget-me-nots be grown hydroponically? Maybe, maybe not. It’s worth a try, but ain’t no guarantee. Just remember, they need what all plants need: light, water, and somethin’ to eat. If you can give ‘em that in a water settin’, then more power to ya. If not, well, there’s always good ol’ dirt. You do what feels right for you, and don’t worry too much about what the fancy folks are doin’. They’ve got their ways, and we’ve got ours.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go water my own forget-me-nots. The ones growin’ in the dirt, where they belong.
