Alright, so you wanna know about playin’ that pickleball inside, near Kennett Square, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I know. It ain’t always easy findin’ a place, but there are some spots around.
First off, that YMCA, they got them pickleball courts. I hear tell they got ’em both inside and outside, but you’re askin’ about inside, so that’s what matters. They say they got a whole bunch of courts all over Chester County, more’n fifty of ’em, I think. But you gotta be a member, see? Can’t just walk in off the street and start playin’. Gotta pay your dues, like everythin’ else these days.
Now, I ain’t sure how many courts they got right there in Kennett Square, but they got some, that’s for sure. Someone told me they got three inside and three outside at the Kennett Area YMCA. Sounds like a good place to start, if you ask me.

- Lots of courts: They do got a lot of courts though, so that’s a good thing. More places to play, less waitin’ around.
- Indoor and outdoor: Good for all kinds of weather, I guess. But we’re talkin’ about inside, so let’s stick to that.
Then there’s other places, maybe. I heard some folks talkin’ about searchin’ online for pickleball courts. They got these websites and apps, they say, where you can find places to play. Something called “PlayTime Scheduler,” I think they said. Said it’s free to use. I ain’t too good with that computer stuff myself, but maybe you youngsters can figure it out.
They say you can find public courts and private clubs too. But them clubs, they probably cost money too, just like the YMCA. Ain’t nothin’ free these days, it seems like. But if you’re serious about playin’, maybe it’s worth it. I don’t know, I just like to watch sometimes. Gets my knees achin’ just thinkin’ about runnin’ around on them courts.
Folks are real crazy about this pickleball now, you know? They say it’s gettin’ popular everywhere. I even heard tell they got more pickleball courts than ever before, all across the country. Some places got more than others, of course. Seems like them big cities got a lot, but even smaller towns like Kennett Square, they got some too. So that’s good news for you, if you’re lookin’ to play.
And listen, they say a pickleball court ain’t that big. Just a net in the middle, and you hit that ball back and forth. Not like them big tennis courts. Easier on the old bones, I reckon. But still, you gotta be quick, or that little ball will whiz right past ya.
