So, I’ve been working on this project called “capstone healthcare.” Man, it’s been a journey, let me tell you.
First off, I started digging into what healthcare really means these days. It’s not just about going to the doctor when you’re sick, you know? It’s way bigger. It’s always changing, like, all the time. I read somewhere that healthcare is a constantly evolving field, and boy, is that the truth.
Then, I got into this whole thing about measuring health outcomes. It’s not just about how many people get services, but also if those services actually work. Like, are they effective? Are they doing what they’re supposed to do? I tried to figure out how to measure this stuff, and it’s way harder than it looks. I felt like I was trying to count the dots on a dice, you know, like that SCP thing, two dots, five dots, two dots… just a lot to keep track of.
I also looked into this software thing called Waystar. It’s supposed to help patients figure out how much their healthcare is gonna cost. It’s all about price transparency, which is a big deal. I played around with it a bit, trying to see how it works with charge master data and contract rates, and all that jazz. It was kinda cool, but also kinda complicated.
I even got into some heavy stuff, like caring for someone with a TBI. I pretended to be a nurse in a neurosurgical ICU, planning their care. It was intense, thinking about all the things you have to consider. I mean, people’s lives are on the line, you know? It’s a lot of responsibility.
There was also this thing about safeguarding, especially when it comes to kids and young people. I mean, that’s super important, right? Whether it’s in schools, or charities, or wherever. I tried to learn more about it, because everyone who works with kids should know this stuff.
Honestly, this whole project has been a lot. It’s been like watching a show you thought would be good, but then you watch something else that’s way better, and you realize the first one wasn’t so great after all. Just like that one time, I watched Business Proposal before 2521, and thought it was good, but after watching 2521, I realized Business Proposal was just okay. I feel like that about a lot of things these days, just like many other people on this sub.
But yeah, it’s been a real learning experience. I’ve gone from knowing almost nothing about this stuff to feeling like I have a pretty good grasp on it. It’s been a wild ride, but I’m glad I did it.
