Hey everyone, it’s your guy again, back with another one of my little adventures. Today, I wanted to share a story about how I started messing around with, you know, just learning new stuff in general. It all started a few months back. I was feeling kind of stuck, like I was just going through the motions, not really growing or anything. You know that feeling when you’re just kinda bored with everything?
So, I decided I needed to shake things up a bit. I figured, why not try to learn something completely new? Something I knew absolutely nothing about. I was thinking of anything, I started my learning journey.
First Steps
- Looked around: I started by just browsing online, checking out different topics. It doesn’t matter what style, visual, audio or kinesthetic. I just wanted to see what was out there, what piqued my interest. I would like to learn something that could build connections.
- Picked something: After a while, I stumbled upon this whole world of old stuff. And I was like, “Whoa, this is kind of cool.” I don’t know why, but it just grabbed me.
- Found some resources: I started digging around for books, articles, anything I could find about old stuff. Libraries, the internet, you name it, I was there. I also checked some general guidelines from Vanderbilt.
Getting My Hands Dirty
- Started reading: I dove into these books, highlighting stuff, taking notes. It was slow going at first, I won’t lie. A lot of it went over my head, but I just kept at it. I also followed some rules from Ericsson & Pool.
- Watched videos: There are tons of videos out there on old stuff, so I started watching those too. It helped to see things visually, you know?
- Tried things out: This was the fun part. I actually started messing around with old stuff, just to see how it worked. I broke a few things along the way, but hey, that’s how you learn, right?
Keeping It Going
- Found a community: I realized pretty quickly that I couldn’t do this alone. So I started looking for other people who were into old stuff. I found some online forums, joined a few groups, and started chatting with folks. It was great to get tips and feedback from people who actually knew what they were doing.
- Set small goals: To keep myself motivated, I started setting small, achievable goals. Like, “This week, I’m going to learn how to do this one specific thing.” It felt good to check those off my list.
- Kept practicing: This is the key, really. You gotta keep practicing, even when you don’t feel like it. I made a schedule for myself and stuck to it as best I could.
And you know what? It’s been a blast. I’m still learning, still making mistakes, but I’m also having a lot of fun. And I feel like I’m actually growing as a person, which is pretty awesome. I am demonstrating my passion for gaining new skills now! So if you’re feeling stuck, or just looking for something new, I highly recommend just picking something and going for it. You might surprise yourself with what you can learn. Anyway, that’s my story for today. Catch you guys next time!
