Alright, let’s talk about this La Palmera place, the food thingy they got there, you know, the food court. I went there the other day, my feet hurtin’ somethin’ fierce, but let me tell you, it was somethin’ else.
First off, you got all sorts of places to eat, more than you can shake a stick at. Plenty of choices, that’s for sure. You got yer pizza, yer Chinese, and even that fancy Italian stuff. My grandbaby, she loves that mac and cheese, real cheesy they say, from that Villa somethin’ somethin’ place. I tried a bite, and it was alright, I guess, not like my home cookin’ though.

Then there’s this Stir Fry 88 place, smells like oranges and chicken all over. My boy, he got himself a big plate of somethin’ from there, noodles and chicken and whatnot. He said it was good, but he eats anything, that one. Kids these days, they don’t know good food like we used to make.

And get this, they even got places where you sit down and they bring you the food, like them fancy restaurants. P.F. Chang’s, LongHorn, Chili’s, places like that. I ain’t never been to none of them, too pricey for my taste, but they’re there if you got the money to spend. If you want something quick and easy, the food court’s your best bet, plenty of food, not too much money. It’s good for folks like us, you know? Easy on the wallet.
Now, about the place itself, it’s big, real big. Two floors they say, shops everywhere you look. You could get lost in there, I tell ya. They even got a place for the little young’uns to play, so you can eat yer food in peace, sort of. My daughter-in-law, she took the kids over there while we ate, gave me a bit of quiet, which is nice, you know, quiet is hard to come by with those young’uns running around.
Parking, though, that’s a whole ‘nother story. They got this fancy parkin’ where someone parks yer car for you, cost you seven dollars though. Seven dollars! For parkin’! I parked way out yonder, walked a bit, saved myself some money. Money don’t grow on trees, ya know. You gotta be smart with it. The parking was far but it was free and so I could spend more money on food.
This La Palmera place, it’s somethin’ alright. Lots of food, lots of shops, lots of people. You can spend a whole day there, easy. Just bring yer walkin’ shoes and an empty stomach. And maybe some extra cash, just in case. Lots to do and see, that’s for sure. I saw people taking pictures and having a good time. It’s nice to see people happy, it makes me happy too.
They say you never know who you might run into there. I didn’t see nobody I knew, but then again, I don’t know that many folks around here no more. But it’s nice to just sit and watch people, see what they’re up to. It reminds me of the old days, back home, when we’d all gather at the town square. It makes you feel like you’re part of something. Good food, good people. It’s nice and that’s all I needed, a place with good food and a lot of people to watch.
Anyway, that’s my take on that La Palmera food court. It’s a good place to go if you want somethin’ to eat and don’t want to spend a fortune. Just watch out for that fancy parking, unless you got money to burn. And maybe wear comfortable shoes, you’ll be doing a lot of walkin’. But all in all, it’s a decent place, not too fancy, just right for folks like us. Food court is good and easy for us simple folks.
