Okay, so the other day I decided to check out this place called Martin Coast Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare. My grandpa’s getting up there in years, and we’ve been thinking about maybe finding a place that can help him out with some stuff. This place came up when I was poking around online, so I figured I’d go take a look.

When I got there, I noticed it’s a pretty big building. They’ve got 120 beds, which seems like a lot to me. I learned later that they’re a “for-profit” nursing home, which, honestly, I don’t know a ton about what that means. But hey, it looked clean and all.
I walked in and talked to a few people at the front desk. They were really helpful, answering all my questions. I found out they do skilled nursing, which I guess is for folks who need a bit more medical attention. They also offer long-term care, which is good to know if grandpa needs to stay there for a while. And they even have short-term rehab, which is perfect if someone just needs to recover after surgery or something.

I just hope they have good bingo nights, ’cause my grandpa loves his bingo!
