Okay, here’s my rundown of trying to make some Neopoints (NP) with the Money Tree on Neopets – it’s a classic, right?
So, I started this little experiment ’cause I was kinda broke on Neopets. We’ve all been there. Heard the Money Tree was a good way to snag some freebies, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
The Plan: Hit the Money Tree Regularly

- Basically, my plan was super simple: check the Money Tree every so often and grab whatever looked decent. I’m talking items, Neopoints, anything that wasn’t total garbage.
- I set a timer on my phone. Like, every 20 minutes, I’d swing by the Money Tree. Kinda obsessive, I know, but hey, gotta be dedicated!
What I Actually Found
Okay, so here’s where reality hit. The Money Tree ain’t exactly overflowing with gold. More like…slightly used socks and half-eaten omelettes. But hey, free stuff is free stuff, right?
- Mostly Junk: A lot of the stuff was just plain junk. Like, the kind of stuff you’d find in your inventory after a random event and immediately discard. Think omelettes with a single bite taken out, moldy bread, that kinda vibe.
- Small Amounts of NP: Sometimes, you’d get lucky and find a few Neopoints. We’re talking like, 20-50 NP at a time. Not exactly rolling in the dough, but it adds up.
- The Rare Goodie: Every once in a while, something decent would pop up. Like a toy, a book, or a food item that wasn’t completely disgusting. These were the real wins.
How I Made Some NP
So, what did I actually do with all this stuff? Well, I turned into a mini-capitalist, that’s what.
- Shop Stock: I tossed anything remotely sellable into my shop. Even the gross omelettes. You’d be surprised what people will buy. Set the price low, and it’ll usually sell eventually.
- Discard the Trash: Anything completely worthless went straight to the discard pile. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
- Keep the Good Stuff: The rare decent items, I either used (if they were food for my Neopet) or saved to sell later when the price might be higher.
The Results (and My Sanity)
Here’s the honest truth: I didn’t get rich. Like, not even close. After a few days of religiously hitting the Money Tree, I probably made a couple thousand NP, tops.
Was it Worth It?
Honestly? Probably not. It was kinda tedious, and the return on investment (of my time) was pretty low. But it was something to do, and I did get a few useful items for my Neopet.
My Verdict
The Money Tree is a good option if you are starting. If you’re super new to Neopets and desperately need a few NP, or you’re just bored and want to see what freebies you can snag, go for it. But if you’re looking to make serious NP, there are way better ways to do it – games, the stock market, restocking in shops, etc.
So yeah, that’s my Money Tree adventure. It was a fun little experiment, but I think I’ll stick to playing games for now. At least that’s a little more exciting.
