Okay, so the other day, I was trying to snag some tickets for a game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. I’ve heard it’s like, the holy grail for college basketball fans, but man, figuring out the seating was a real head-scratcher.
First, I scoured the internet for a seating chart. I mean, you’d think that’d be easy, right? Nope. There’s a bunch of stuff out there, but not a whole lot that’s super clear.
Finding the Chart
- Looked at the official Duke website – kinda helpful, but not the best.
- Found some third-party ticket sites with charts – these were a bit better.
- Dug through some forums – got some decent tips from other fans.
After a while, I kinda pieced together a general idea. Cameron Indoor’s pretty small, which is cool because you’re close to the action, but it also means there aren’t a ton of seats. I learned that it only holds around 9,300 people. For a big-time basketball program, that’s tiny!

So, apparently, the best seats if you’re not a student are in sections 6, 7, 14, and 15. These are supposed to give you a good view of the whole court. Each of these sections has about 15 rows, and naturally, Row A is the closest.
Choosing the Seats
- Debated between getting closer seats in a less-than-ideal section or further seats in one of the “good” sections.
- Considered the price – obviously, the closer you are, the more it’s gonna cost.
- Weighed the pros and cons – a good view is important, but so is being part of the crazy atmosphere.
Finally, I decided to go for it and grabbed some seats in section 7. Not the very front row, but close enough that I should be able to see everything pretty well. It wasn’t cheap, but hey, it’s Cameron Indoor! I figured it was worth it for the experience.
In the end, it took some work, but I managed to figure out the seating situation. I’m stoked to finally see a game in this historic place. I’ll let y’all know how the seats were after I go!
