Yesterday, I wanted to find a good indoor running track. I’m really into endurance sports, and I needed a reliable place to train.
First, I checked online for some suggestions. I found some people talking about local schools. So, I called the nearest high school and asked if they had a track that was open to the public. They didn’t, unfortunately. It was a dead end, but it was worth a shot.
Then, I remembered a website called Yelp. I searched for “indoor running tracks” in San Jose, CA, and it gave me a few options. One place that caught my eye was the Campbell Community Center. People said it had a “cushiony” track, which sounded perfect for long runs.

Here are some of the places I looked into:
- Campbell Community Center – This seemed like the best bet. Good reviews about the track.
- Ortega Park – It was mentioned as a good park, but I wasn’t sure if it had an indoor track.
- River Glen Park, River Oaks Park, Houge Park – These were also listed, but with less information.
I also thought about just using a treadmill, but I wanted the feel of a real track. Running in place at home is okay for some light cardio, but it’s not the same as a proper run outside or on a track.
In the end, I decided to check out the Campbell Community Center first. If that doesn’t work out, I might visit some of the other parks. Or maybe I need to start calling around other community centers. Finding the right place to train is important, so I’ll keep looking until I find something that works for me.
It was really a busy day for searching and calling around, but it was well worth it. I really want to run in the indoor running track.
