So, I’ve been meaning to fix up my place a bit, and one of the things on my list was those dark stairs. You know, the ones you almost trip on when you’re stumbling around at night? Yeah, those. I decided it was time to install some indoor step lights. Nothing too fancy, just something to make it safer and, you know, look a little nicer.
First, I started looking around for what kind of lights were even out there. There are a lot of options, let me tell you. I didn’t want to spend a fortune, but I also didn’t want something that looked like it belonged in a dollar store. After browsing for a bit, I came across some decent-looking ones. They were on sale, which was a plus, and had pretty good reviews. I read through what other people had said about them, making sure they weren’t going to fall apart the minute I installed them.
Then I had to figure out how many I needed. I counted the steps and decided to go with one light for every other step, it is a good idea. That seemed like it would be enough to light things up without turning my staircase into a runway. So, I ordered the lights and waited for them to arrive.

- Count the steps.
- Determine the spacing.
- Place the order.
Once they showed up, I got to work. Now, I’m not exactly the handiest person, but I figured this was something I could handle. I mean, how hard could it be to stick some lights on the stairs, right? The lights I got were pretty simple to install. They had this adhesive on the back, so you just peel off the backing and stick them where you want them. I started at the bottom of the stairs and worked my way up, making sure to space them out evenly. I used a measuring tape to make sure, even though it was probably overkill.
After I had them all in place, I stepped back to take a look. Not bad, if I do say so myself. They gave off a nice, warm glow that was just enough to see where you were going without being too bright. It definitely made the stairs look a lot better, and I felt a little safer knowing I wouldn’t be tripping in the dark anymore.

All in all, it was a pretty easy project, and it made a big difference. I’m happy with how it turned out, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking to spruce up their stairs and make them a little safer. Plus, it’s always nice to cross something off the to-do list, you know?
