Alright, guys, gather ’round! Today, I’m gonna tell you about my little adventure at the Pa’ina Lanai Food Court. Now, I’d heard some buzz about this place, tucked away on the second floor of the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. Some folks said it was a good spot to grab a bite in Waikiki, so I figured, why not give it a whirl?
First thing I did was head over to that shopping center. It’s right there on Kalakaua Avenue, number 2201, you can’t miss it. Once inside, I made my way up to the second floor, and there it was – the Pa’ina Lanai Food Court. It’s not huge, mind you, but it’s got this open-air vibe that’s kinda nice.
I strolled around, checking out the different food stalls. They’ve got a bit of everything. I saw a place called Champion’s Steak and Seafood, which sounded pretty tempting. Then there was Mahaloha Burger, and a spot called Pho Factory. I was feeling a bit peckish, so I decided to dive in.

I ended up trying a few different things. First, I went for some spicy buffalo wings. It was a decent sized serving with some celery and ranch. My mouth was instantly filled with a very strong taste of spicy. After recovering from the shock, I started to like the taste. I liked the way the spiciness matched with the flavor of the meat.
Then, I spotted some jumbo prawns, breaded in coconut panko, and thought, “Well, when in Rome…” Those were lightly fried and had some kind of Thai red curry sauce on top. They were pretty tasty, I gotta say. The sweetness of the coconut and the spiciness of the curry was a great combination that I did not know about before.
I also saw some potato skins, and since I’m a sucker for those, I had to give ’em a try. I felt that they were okay, but nothing special. I felt that the food court would be a great place if you just wanted to get a quick meal, but not a place where you would want to sit down and enjoy a great dining experience.
After I paid and walked out, I felt pretty satisfied with the overall food court experience. Even though the food was nothing special, I still had a great time trying a little bit of everything.
So, here’s the lowdown:
- It’s easy to find: Just head to the Royal Hawaiian Center and go up to the second floor.
- It’s got variety: You’ll find everything from steak and seafood to burgers and pho.
- It’s open daily: They’re open from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm every day, so you can get your grub on whenever the mood strikes.
- It’s got that open-air thing going: Makes you feel like you’re not trapped inside a mall.
All in all, I’d say the Pa’ina Lanai Food Court is a solid choice if you’re in Waikiki and need a quick and easy meal. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done, and the variety is a big plus. Plus, that open-air setup is kinda cool. Give it a shot if you’re in the area!
