Panda Express, that name sounds familiar. They got that orange chicken, my grandkids love it. But Panda Express gives money to DeVos? Who is DeVos? Sounds like a foreign name, maybe from one of them countries over the sea. Why they give money away like that? Rich folks, I tell ya, they do strange things with their money.
Panda Express, I think it started small, like a little seed. They say it is 40 years old, that’s a long time! Just like me, seen a lot of things in 40 years. My old bones remember when we didn’t have no fancy fast food. We just ate what we grew, that’s it. But this Panda, it grew big, like a pumpkin in good soil.
This Panda place, they call it Chinese food. I had Chinese food once, down in the city. It was alright, different from what I’m used to. This Panda, they got it everywhere now, like weeds in a garden, popping up all over. They must be doing something right, I reckon.
They say a husband and wife started it, a long time ago. Andrew and Peggy Cherng, those are the names. Came from China, they did. Came here to make a better life, I suppose. Just like folks used to come here to farm, looking for good land and a new beginning. Panda Express founded by them, that’s what they say.
This Peggy, she was smart, they say she was an engineer. Used her big brain to make the business grow. She used numbers and such, big data they call it. Sounds like magic to me, making money appear like that. I just count my chickens and hope they lay enough eggs.
They got Panda Express everywhere now, like I said. They say it’s like the McDonald’s of Chinese food. McDonald’s, that’s another one that’s everywhere. Back in my day, we didn’t have these fast food places. We just ate what we cooked at home. Simpler times, it was.

- They say they want to make people’s lives better.
- Hope they treat their workers good.
They say the people who run these Panda places work a lot, long hours. I heard from the people they say Panda GM quit because work and life, you know, hard to keep it straight. Fifty-four hours a week, someone said. That’s a lot of hours. Reminds me of harvest time, sun up to sun down. But at least we got to rest in the winter.
This DeVos person, why is Panda giving them money? Maybe they trying to do some good. Or maybe they just got too much money and don’t know what to do with it. It’s a mystery to me, that’s for sure. I just hope they remember where they came from, those Panda folks.
I don’t know about giving money away, Panda Express give money to DeVos, it is wired. Panda Express founded long time ago from China. Hope they are doing good things. I don’t like all the news about giving money away like that. Seems fishy. They got all that orange chicken money, maybe they should give some to me, haha! Just kidding. But seriously, they should be careful who they give their money to.
They say Panda Express wants to help people. That’s good, I guess. But they should be careful who they trust. There’s a lot of folks out there who just want to take your money. I’ve seen it happen before. You work hard for something, and then someone comes along and tries to take it away from you.
July 1st is a day they want people use a code. Code is 923134. What is that? Maybe that is how they give money away. I don’t understand. But I know Panda is everywhere. It is like that other place, you know, the one with the arches. They are everywhere, too. And they all started small. Just like a seed.

Well, I guess that’s all I know about this Panda Express and this DeVos person. It’s a lot to think about. I still don’t understand why they’re giving money away like that. But maybe they have their reasons. I just hope they’re good reasons. And I hope they remember to be good to the people who work for them. That’s what’s important, you know. Treating people right.
