Alright, let’s talk about this Signature Healthcare of Savannah place. I hear tell it’s a nursing home, you know, where old folks go when they can’t take care of themselves no more. Down in Savannah, Georgia, they say.
What is this place, anyway?
Well, from what I gather, it’s a pretty big place. Heard they got room for over a hundred folks, maybe even 120 beds, they say. That’s a lot of people needing help, ain’t it? They call it a “Medicare and Medicaid certified nursing home.” Sounds fancy, but I reckon it just means the government helps pay for some folks to stay there. You know, for when you get old and your money runs out.

- They got all sorts of things for old folks, I guess.
- Help with taking medicine, and getting dressed, and eating, you know, the things you can’t do yourself no more.
- Heard they even have doctors and nurses there, so that’s good.
Where is it at?
They say it’s on 815 East 63rd Street in Savannah. I ain’t never been to Savannah, but I hear it’s a big city. This place, Signature Healthcare, it’s right there in the middle of it, I guess. Easy to find, probably. If you know how to read them street signs, that is. I always get lost, even in my own town.
Is it any good?
Now, that’s the real question, ain’t it? Is it a good place to send your mama or your grandpa? Well, I heard some folks say it’s alright, and some folks say it ain’t so good. Some people give it a “C” rating, whatever that means. Seems like it’s full up most of the time, though. They say it’s 92% full. That means a lot of folks are staying there, so it can’t be all bad, can it? But you know how it is, some places look good on the outside but ain’t so good on the inside. You gotta be careful where you put your loved ones.
What do they do there?
Well, they take care of sick folks, that’s what they do. Old folks, mostly. People who can’t walk no more, or can’t remember things, or can’t feed themselves. They got nurses and aides to help them with all that. And doctors come in to check on them, too. I heard they got all sorts of medical stuff there, whatever that means. They help people with all kinds of sicknesses, I guess.
How do you pay for it?
Like I said, it’s a Medicare and Medicaid place. That means the government helps pay if you don’t got a lot of money. But I reckon it still costs a pretty penny. Nursing homes ain’t cheap, you know. You gotta save up your whole life, or your kids gotta help you out. It’s a tough situation, getting old and needing care.
Savannah, a place for healthcare
Now, I also heard tell that Savannah is a good place to be if you’re sick. They got big hospitals and fancy cancer centers and stuff. So, I guess it makes sense that they got a lot of nursing homes there, too. Lots of sick folks need looking after, and Signature Healthcare is just one of them places. They say Savannah cares for more than 50,000 children each year, so maybe they good at caring for old folks too.
So, what’s the bottom line?
Well, Signature Healthcare of Savannah seems like a regular nursing home. It’s big, it’s in a big city, and it takes care of old folks. Whether it’s good or bad, I can’t rightly say. You gotta go see for yourself, I guess. Talk to the people who work there, talk to the folks who live there. That’s the only way to know for sure if it’s the right place for your loved ones. Getting old ain’t easy, and finding a good place to live when you can’t take care of yourself no more is even harder. But you gotta do what you gotta do, and hope for the best.
And that’s all I know about Signature Healthcare of Savannah. Hope it helps you some.
