Okay, guys, let’s talk about my recent adventure with the Culture Pass in New Orleans.
I heard about this Culture Pass thing from a friend. She said it was a way to get into museums and other cool places in New Orleans for free. Free? I’m all ears! I immediately checked the New Orleans Public Library website, and it was legit.
So, you gotta have a New Orleans Public Library card, which I already did, because who doesn’t love free books? And you need to be 18 or older, check. Then you can reserve passes online. They’ve got partnerships with a bunch of places, like the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience, and some other historical spots in the French Quarter.

The Process
I went online and browsed through the list of participating places. I saw that they even had passes for the New Orleans Film Festival some days, which is pretty awesome. I decided to go for the Hermann-Grima + Gallier thing ’cause I’m a sucker for old houses and history.
- Reserved my pass online – super easy.
- Got a confirmation email.
- Showed up at the place on the day.
- Presented my library card and the pass info.
- Boom, I was in!
The whole thing was a breeze. I strolled around, soaked up the history, and didn’t spend a dime on admission. It’s a first-come, first-served deal, so you gotta be on top of it, especially for popular places or events.
I heard they keep adding new places to the Culture Pass program. They recently added this place called the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience. I definitely want to check that out next. This is like the best library perk ever!
New Orleans is such a melting pot, you know? French, Spanish, Creole, Cajun – it’s all here. And this Culture Pass is a fantastic way to experience all that without breaking the bank.
Seriously, if you live in New Orleans and you’re not using the Culture Pass, you’re missing out. It’s free, it’s easy, and you get to see some amazing stuff. What’s not to love? I had a great time and saved a bunch of money, and I plan to keep using it to explore more of this awesome city.
