So, I’ve been trying out this thing called Vigo Money Transfer, and I gotta say, it’s been a bit of a ride. At first, I was just looking for a way to send some cash to my cousin overseas. I heard about Vigo, saw some stuff online about it being all about sending money around the globe, so I thought, why not?
First thing I did was download their app. The app itself is pretty straightforward – you know, punch in the amount, who you’re sending it to, and all that jazz. I saw that it mentioned something about being able to send money to over 200 countries and dealing with a whole bunch of different currencies. Sounds impressive, right?
Verification Stuff
But here’s where it got a bit tricky. To actually send the money using a bank transfer, I had to get verified. I’m not gonna lie, that part took a bit longer than I expected. I guess they gotta make sure everything’s legit, which is cool, but I was itching to just get the money sent.

Finding a Vigo Location
While I was waiting on that, I decided to check out their website to see if there were any physical locations near me. Turns out, there were a few. I figured maybe I could just pop in and get things sorted out quicker in person. I went to one of the agent locations listed on their site.
The Actual Transfer
- When I finally got the green light to send the money, it was smooth sailing from there. I mean, it’s pretty much what you’d expect – you put in the details, double-check everything, and hit send.
- The app said it was supposed to be “high speed,” and honestly, it was pretty quick. My cousin got the money faster than I thought he would.
- They also talked about having “reasonable exchange rates.” I did a quick comparison with some other services, and yeah, Vigo’s rates seemed fair enough.
Hidden Fees
I was reading up on some reviews and saw some folks talking about hidden fees. I’m still figuring out all the details of the fees and stuff. It’s not always super clear up front, so I’m keeping an eye on that.
All in all, using Vigo was a bit of a mixed bag. Getting set up took some time, but once I was past that, sending the money was a breeze. I’ll probably keep using it for now, but I’m definitely gonna do a bit more digging into those fees. Just gotta be smart about it, you know?
