Okay, so today I want to talk about the food court at Walnut Grove High School. I’ve been meaning to check it out for a while now, and I finally got the chance to go there this week. I heard some good things, and some not-so-good things, so I was curious to see for myself what it was all about.
First off, I drove over to the school. It’s not too far from where I live, so it was a quick trip. When I got there, I parked the car and walked towards the main building. The school is pretty big, so I asked a student for directions to the food court. They were super helpful and pointed me in the right direction. I followed their instructions and easily found the food court.
When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was the size. It was way bigger than I expected! There were a ton of tables and chairs, and it was pretty crowded with students. I saw a bunch of different food stations, each with their own little sign. They had everything from pizza to burgers to salads to some Asian food, and a few other things. The selection was honestly pretty impressive.
I decided to try a slice of pizza and some fries. I walked over to the pizza station, waited in line for a few minutes, and then placed my order. The guy behind the counter was friendly enough, and he handed me my pizza and fries pretty quickly. I paid for my food – it wasn’t too expensive, about what you’d expect for school food – and then found an empty table to sit down at.
Food Quality
- Pizza: The pizza was okay. It wasn’t the best pizza I’ve ever had, but it wasn’t terrible either. The crust was a bit doughy for my taste, but the sauce and cheese were decent.
- Fries: The fries were actually pretty good! They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, just how I like them. They were seasoned well, too.
After I finished eating, I walked around the food court a bit more to check out the other food stations. I saw a few students eating salads that looked pretty good, and the burgers smelled delicious. I made a mental note to try those next time. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the food court. It was clean, there were a lot of options, and the food was decent. I’d definitely go back again.
So, that was my experience at the Walnut Grove High School food court. It’s not a fancy restaurant or anything, but for a school cafeteria, it’s pretty darn good. If you’re ever in the area and looking for a quick and cheap bite to eat, it’s worth checking out. Just don’t expect gourmet food, you know? It’s school food, after all. But hey, sometimes that’s all you need, right?
