My Little Experiment: Trying Out That Money Oil Thing
So, I kept hearing about this “money oil,” right? People talking about it, seeing stuff online. Honestly, I was curious. Not really expecting magic, but more like, okay, let’s see what this is all about. Felt like a neat little project, maybe shift my thinking a bit about abundance, you know?
First thing I did was gather up the ingredients. This took a bit of running around. I decided on a base oil first. I just grabbed some plain ol’ almond oil I had, seemed neutral enough. Then, the ‘money’ bits:
- Patchouli: Heard this was a must. Found some essential oil, not too expensive.
- Cinnamon: Got actual cinnamon sticks, not the powder. Thought it looked cooler and maybe infused better.
- Ginger: Just a small piece of fresh ginger, sliced thin. Gave it a nice zingy smell.
- Basil: Had some dried basil in the kitchen already. Easy peasy.
- Maybe a secret touch: I tossed in a couple of whole cloves too, just felt right.
Okay, got my stuff. Next, I found a small, clean glass jar with a tight lid. Washed it out real good and let it dry completely. Didn’t want any water messing things up.

Then came the actual mixing part. I poured the almond oil into the jar, maybe filled it up about three-quarters full. Didn’t measure exactly, just eyeballed it. Then I started adding the goodies.
Dropped in the cinnamon sticks first. Then the thin slices of ginger. Added a good pinch of the dried basil. Put in a few drops of the patchouli oil – maybe 5 or 6 drops? Didn’t want it overpowering. Finally, popped in those two cloves.
Here’s the important bit: I didn’t just dump it all in. As I added each thing, I tried to focus on, well, positive money thoughts. Like thinking about feeling secure, or opportunities opening up. Sounds a bit woo-woo maybe, but hey, that was part of the process I read about, so I gave it a go. Felt kinda calming, actually.
Once everything was in the jar, I screwed the lid on tight. Gave it a gentle swirl, not shaking it like crazy, just enough to get things mingling. The oil looked kinda pretty with all the bits floating around.
Letting it Sit and Do Its Thing
Now, the waiting game. I put the jar on a windowsill where it could get some sun, but not like, boiling hot direct sun all day. Read somewhere that helps the infusion. Every day or so, I’d pick it up and give it another gentle swirl, still trying to hold onto those positive vibes while I did it.
I left it like that for about two weeks. Some say longer, some say shorter, but two weeks felt about right to me. The oil started smelling really nice – warm, spicy, earthy. The color changed a little bit too, got a bit darker from the cinnamon and stuff.
After the two weeks, I strained it. Used a small funnel lined with a coffee filter, pouring the oil into another clean, small bottle. This got rid of all the solid bits, leaving just the infused oil. It took a while for it all to drip through, gotta be patient.
And… that was pretty much it. I had my little bottle of homemade money oil. Honestly, the process itself was kinda fun. Felt good to make something with my own hands, focusing on a positive goal. Haven’t won the lottery or anything, let’s be real. But using a little bit now and then – maybe rubbing a tiny bit on my wallet or just smelling it when I’m working on finances – feels like a nice little ritual. A reminder to stay positive and open to opportunities. It was a simple, grounding experience, and that alone felt worthwhile.
