Alright, let’s talk about this YFC thingamajig, or whatever they call it. Sounds fancy, huh? Like somethin’ them city folks use. But from what I gather, it ain’t nothin’ but a big ol’ book of stuff, a knowledge base, they say.
Now, this YFC knowledge base, it’s like a giant brain, holdin’ all sorts of info. About what? Well, about their stuff, their work, what they do. It’s all in there, they say. Like, if you got questions, this YFC knowledge base is where you go lookin’. It’s got answers, supposedly.
First thing’s first, you gotta get in. They call it loggin’ in. Sounds complicated, but it ain’t. It’s like openin’ a door, but with a name and a password. You know, like them bank accounts the young’uns talk about. You type in your name, type in your secret code, and boom, you’re in. This YFC Hub Customer Account, they call it. Sounds important, right?
- Username: That’s your name, or what they call you on this here YFC thing.
- Password: That’s your secret code, don’t go tellin’ nobody.
- Login Button: That’s the thing you push after you type in your name and code.
Once you’re in, it’s like walkin’ into a big library, but everything’s on a computer screen. Scary, I tell ya. But they got all sorts of things in there. Trainin’ stuff, help stuff, all about this YFC Salesforce Nonprofit Starter Pack. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? NPSP, they call it for short. City folks and their short words.
They even got pictures and videos, mind you! Shows you how to do stuff. Like, addin’ things to the picture library, or makin’ pages. Blocks, they call ’em. Like buildin’ with Lego, but on the computer. Some fella from YFC even made a video about it. Pretty handy, I guess, if you’re into that sort of thing.
And then there’s this Infosystem thing. Sounds like somethin’ out of a sci-fi movie. But it’s just another part of this YFC world. They got stuff about families in there. Households, they call ’em. Like, how to put families into the computer, how to see reports about ’em. All sorts of stuff.
Now, when you get into this Infosystem, you gotta look for your name up in the corner. It’ll say either GUEST or ENCODER next to it. Guest, I guess, means you’re just lookin’ around. Encoder, well, that sounds like you’re doin’ some work. Puttin’ stuff in, I reckon.
To get to the household stuff, they got these tutorials. Little lessons, like. One’s called Household Groupings Assignment. Another one’s Encoding Household in Member’s Portal. And then there’s View Household Report. Sounds like a lot of hoops to jump through, if you ask me. But that’s how they do things in the city, I guess.
So, this YFC knowledge base, it’s a big place, full of information. You gotta log in, find your way around, and learn their lingo. NPSP, Infosystem, Encoder, Guest… It’s a whole new language. But I guess if you wanna learn about YFC, that’s where you gotta go. Just remember your name and your secret code, and you’ll be alright. Maybe.
And don’t forget, if you get lost, just keep clickin’ around. Sooner or later, you’ll stumble on somethin’ useful, even if you don’t know what you’re doin’. That’s how I learned to bake a cake, after all. Just kept mixin’ stuff together ‘til it looked right.
Anyways, that’s the gist of it. This YFC knowledge base, it’s a place to learn. Just gotta figure out how to use it, that’s all.
