Okay, so, I’ve been meaning to check out this place called MADO Healthcare in Old Town for a while now. It’s supposed to be some kind of recovery and rehab center, and I’ve heard they do a lot with folks dealing with mental health issues. My buddy mentioned it might be good for me, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
First off, I had to find the darn place. Luckily, a quick search told me it was at 1121 N Orleans St in Chicago. Seemed easy enough. I hopped in my car and punched the address into my GPS. The drive over wasn’t too bad, just the usual Chicago traffic.
Finding the place was a breeze. I pulled up, and there it was. I parked my car and walked in. I gotta say, the vibe was pretty chill right from the start. I went up to the front desk, and the person there was super friendly. They asked me what I was looking for, and I explained I was interested in learning more about their services.

They gave me some brochures and explained a bit about what they offer. It sounded like they have a bunch of different programs, both individual and group stuff, all focused on helping people connect with each other and work through their stuff. I got introduced to one of the staff members. A very polite person. They gave me a basic overview of the organization and what it offers.
- They offer programs for people living with mental illness.
- They emphasize the importance of peer connection.
- They provide individual and group therapeutic sessions.
Honestly, the whole experience was pretty positive. I didn’t sign up for anything yet, but I’m definitely considering it. I spent some time wandering around the facility, just observing. I saw people chatting in groups, some were doing activities, and others were just relaxing. It seemed like a pretty supportive environment. I also noticed that some information about their organization is not public, as they mentioned.
Before leaving, I wrote a review of this place, that’s how I usually do. Then I went back to my car and drove back home.
Overall, I’d say MADO Healthcare Old Town seems like a decent place. I need to do a bit more research, maybe talk to some people who’ve actually gone through their programs, but my first impression was definitely good. If you’re in Chicago and looking for a recovery center, it might be worth checking out. That’s what I experienced today.
